The handoff problem nobody talks about
Most things break at the seams between tools, not inside them. The handoff is where context goes to die.
Where work actually fails
A task does not usually fail because someone could not do it. It fails because it fell through a seam: the note that never made it from the call to the tracker, the decision buried in a thread, the invoice that did not know the work was done.
The operator becomes the glue
When the tools do not talk, I am the integration. I carry context from one app to the next in my head, and I am the single point of failure for every handoff. That works at two clients. It does not work at six.
Closing the seams
The fix is fewer seams, not more discipline. When the call, the task, the document, and the invoice live on one model, the handoff is not a copy step, it is just the next state of the same record. Nothing has to survive a trip between tools, because there is no trip.
